Fairytale Layout

Morning everyone (or evening... depending where you are)

I thought what better way to start the day of the Royal wedding than with my own fairytale wedding layout lol Actually I only thought of that then but it seemed fitting.

Before easter I purchased 3 Kaisercraft mini paper pads from Ebay. Bubblegum hills, Nan's favourites, and Magic Happens. They arrived yesterday, along with some very fitting purple flowers to create this layout in under an hour. That's actually extremely good for me. I'm a slow scrapper.

I've added this and the card below to my Kaiser DT post, however for those of you who have already visited that post (thankyou lovelies), I wanted to post it seperately as well. I'm entering it into the current challenge at These are a few of my favourite things, which is a choose your own type challenge. My catagory for the challenge is my Favourite memory but it also fits in with my favourite manufacturer, in case you haven't already noticed haha.

Its great what you can do with the mini pads. I thought it would be tricky at first but I'm happy with the end result.

And a quick Bubblegum Hills card with my new Maryanne creatables doily die.

Wicked Princesses Cybercrop This Weekend

Couldn't think of a more fun way to spend a long weekend than scrapping with the lovely princesses!

Woyww 99

There is nothing really going on at my desk today. Just mess really, although I have put my 2 new storage items on my desk and made a bit more space on top. The floor is still another story. I created so much over the long weekend for the Kaisercraft DT call. Pretty happy with how much I achieved, but I submitted that yesterday so now have nothing much to share. But if you would like to visit my Kaiser post and let me know what you think, its here.  I'm such a massive Kaisercraft fan so it would be a dream come true so fingers crossed.

Otherwise, my next project will be to create something with my latest DT pack for Scrapbooking Haven. The papers consist of the Cosmo Cricket Chemistry range and I must say, these are not my typical colours, so its going to be a massive challenge. But fun of course! There are a few of them on top of that pile of stuff on the floor beside me as you can see below lol Don't worry. I will clean it all up in time for hubbys 30th birthday party next month... or just shut the door ;-)

Sorry about the dodgy photos. Was lazy and blogged with my phone today LOL Didn't sleep so well last night so a bit zonked after work. But now its time for some scrappin!

Don't forget to pop on over to Julia's desk for some more workspace peeks.

Kaisercraft DT Call

As many of you may be aware, Kaisercraft is currently doing their annual DT call for 2011-2012. I am a massive Kaiser fan so I thought I would give it a go as it would be a dream come true to design for my favourite manufacturer. A lot of these projects were actually completed over the easter long weekend, which just goes to show how easy it is to put together Kaiser products due to them having such versatile and fun collections.

 Look out... photo overload!

Firstly, you are about to learn that I have a wee bit of an English Rose obsession. I have always loved this collection and it remains my favourite. Its a bit funny since I am not a fan of shades of pink at all but there is something wonderful about this collection, so the next few items give you an idea on a few different ways to use this lovely collection.

First, a double. The photos are from our wedding in October and I wanted to give it a vintage look using sepia and black and white photos. The circular area was cut with a circle cutter then peeled pack. The 3D flower type things were cut out with a spellbinders doily die set. I have included the individual page photos below.

Together Forever layout: English Rose collection – Florance pp, thelma pp, estelle pp, lilian pp, pearl pp, charlotte pp; rub ons, journal tags, die cut elements; paper flowers in antique pink.

This next layout is of my niece Kaleaha on the day she was born. Love this photo.
Kaleaha layout: English Rose collection – Pearl pp, thelma pp; rub ons, paper blooms in aubergine & olive, printed chipboard, mini alphas in black.

This BTP item I created with two purposes in mind. For now it will be the perfect desk top organiser for stamps, glimmers and other bits and pieces. I have the bottom drawer set to hold my bling as I find I end up with them sheets everywhere. So for now, plans to use it for its exact purpose. However, we are looking at starting a family in the near future and I thought if we have a girl, this would be perfect to set up near the change table with bits and pieces for babies. Things like nappy pins, cotton buds, ointments etc. And if its a girl, its the perfect colour. However, if its a boy... I'll just have to buy another and decorate it with boy colours.

Desk top organiser BTP: Desk top organiser, English Rose collection – Lillian pp; paper blooms in aubergine & olive, flourish in champange, wooden butterfly flourish.
Next up is the frame clock featuring more wedding pictures. Our wedding theme colour was green, so I decided to mix collections on this one to have it classy in black and white colours, with splashes of green. Its going to look fabulous on the wall now and I can't wait to have guests comment on it when they visit.

Wedding clock BTP: Frame clock, After Five collection – mini paper pad, rub ons; Sublime collection - divine pp; paper blooms in olive, paper flowers in green.

This mini album is a bit of a work in progress on our Europe trip last year. Still needs a few more photos etc to be added, however here is how its looking so far.
Arrow mini album BTP: Arrow mini album; Sublime collection - divine pp, vogue pp, majesty pp, outrage pp; After Five collection – champange acetate.
This next item is the mini album shelf, but I decided it would make a great stamp pad storage because mine are in a drawer and the lids come off and its just a mess so this way I can have them visible and well stored. I even papered the back and distressed the edges to give it an antique look.
Mini shelf BTP: Mini album shelf, Secret Bird Society collection – mystery pp, undercover pp, hidden pp; printed chipboard.

For anyone who has followed my work, it is very clear I am not a card marker, however I thought this was a perfect opportunity to create mothers day cards for my mum and mother in law. I'm extremely happy with how they turned out. The second one is for my mother in law as she gave me a stack of vintage buttons, lace and beading the other day. The beading was left over from her wedding headpiece so I think its a pretty sentimental addition to her card. The chanteuse collection is a definite second favourite to English Rose for me and perfect for mothers day!
Card 1: Card in hot pink, Chanteuse paper pad;Staccato pp.
Card 2: Card in wheat, Chanteuse paper pad, strip of wording from pp.

For this layout I hand cut the window frame with a craft knife from a sheet of the Chanteause paperpad and used foam tape to give it a 3D feel. The flowers are fussy cut from the Staccato paper.
Adored layout: Chanteuse collection - Con Brio pp, Staccato pp, Marcato pp; Chanteuse paper pad, English rose rub ons, pearl flourish in pink, paper blooms in olive.
Love the bubblegum hills collection. So bright and fun!
Mini Album Stand BTP: Bubblegum hills collection - Fruity galaxy pp.

These photos were taken the Sunday before easter with my family, after an easter egg hunt. Three of my younger niece and nephews. The banner was using scraps of the paper.
Easter Egg Hunt layout: Bubblegum hills collection - Apple spritz pp, calipso punch pp, printed layered chipboard, rub on letters.

This next one did not photograph well. Its a very gloomy, wet day here and whenever I do misting, it never comes across right on the camera so I should probably do a heavier layer. However, I have used some masks and misted the background with some butterflies. I have also used scraps of the papers to create butterfly punches. The photo was cut with a circle cutter and decorated with a spellbinders doily die.
Forever layout: Lush collection - Cherry blossompp, Bonzai pp, Ginko pp, rub ons, printed chipboard; Chanteuse paper pad.

This next one is only a work in progress also, but its a canvas I am working on to display on the wall. Its a craft shop canvas painted black, but I have used some Kaiser embellishments to decorate it so far, including pearl flourishes, wood flourish and cherish word, paper blooms and papers from the mini paper pad of After Five. I will post up the finished product once it's complete, but for now, it's just a bit of an example of altered art and my first such attempt so I can't wait to have the finished product on display.

Now for a late addition and unforunately it is so gloomy here in QLD today and shabby chic layouts don't photograph so easily at the best of times, however here is a quick one I created last night with some pics from our Europe trip last year. Lots of edge distressing and inking. It actually includes a couple of pages from an old dictionary behind the photos.
Forever layout: Lush collection - Cherry blossompp, Bonzai pp, Ginko pp, rub ons, printed chipboard; Chanteuse paper pad.

Explore layout: Secret Bird Society collection - Mystery pp, Shh pp, Conceal pp, hidden pp, printed chipboard.

This next one came together very quickly yesterday afternoon, when I received some purchased items in the mail, including the Magic Happens paper pad.

Fairytale layout:Magic Happens collection - paper pad, paper flowers.
And a quick all occassions card. This one took about 10 minutes to complete using my new Maryanne creatables doily die.
Celebrate card: Bubblegum Hills collection - paper pad, Calipso punch pp.

Another late addition, this layout was completed for the Wicked Princesses cyber crop on 30.4.11. Its a combination of my two favourite collections. The criteria for the challenge was lucky dip and I had to include staples (on english rose paper), paint (smeared on cardstock in pink and gold), and multiple photos.

Precious Moments layout:Chanteuse collection - paper pad, Tremolo pp, staccato pp; English rose collection - Thelma pp, charlotte pp; olive paperblooms, butterfly wood flourishes.

This one I can finally add now that May has arrived. It is my DT sketch layout for Srapbudz which has a mother's day theme.

Mum layout:English Rose collection - Muriel pp, Estelle pp, Lillian pp, pearl pp; rub ons; die cuts Antique rose paper flowers, lamp post wood flourishe.

1.5.11 - This morning I went to my local craft/linen store, Spotlight in search of party supplies for my husband's 30th and was lucky enough to find the scrapbooking organiser I've been wanting to get along with today's new release collection 'Chapter One'which I am totally in love with. Maybe a top 3. So I decided to decorate my organiser with it and here is the result.
Organiser OTP - Scrapbooking organiser, Chapter one collection patterned papers, black paint.

2.5.11 - Mother's day canvas. I've had a couple of small canvases for years and hadn't thought of what to do with them until now. I have created an altered canvas for my mother for mother's day this year. The photos are from my wedding. The canvas was painted pink first than altered with 2 Kaiser collections.
Mother's Day canvas altered art -  Chanteuse collection - marcato pp; English Rose collection - Florence pp, antique pink & mint paper flowers.

4.5.11 - Another quick creation I've added on. Sorry about the not so great photo. Short of time and poor lighting. Normally I'd wait until a better time of day but wanted to upload before work.
What's Cooking layout - Nan's Favourites collection - paper pad.

Thankyou for visiting.
