Polly! Scrapbook and PL Kit Pages

Hello

I have been such a slack blogger lately. The back to work thing has stolen some of my time, but I am still here and still creating.

This month I had the honour of being the guest designer at Polly! Yeah... it sounds pretty funny since I am the Project Life kit designer as of this month officially too but my guest design gig was organised last year so it meant I got to play with both kits this month. Here are my scrapbook kit creations so far:

"Gold Coast Mini Break"

"Six Months"

"First Mothers Day"

I still have sooooooo much left from the scrapbook kit so stay tuned and I will see how many more things I can pump out (even though my creative to do list is massive right now lol)

And some Project Life pages using a mix of my stash and the first Polly! PL kit... which was a charity kit with some of the proceeds going to a good cause (Live below the Line).
release and we have some gorgeous images to share with you.  If you have yet to be won over by the whole PL movement these layouts will be sure to get you inspired.

Something a Bit Different to Share

Hey there

Today there is nothing scrappy to share but it is still something creative. My husband's band Lynchmada have released their new film clip today for their single Green River. Check it out below but a heads up... it is heavy!
This song also made it to number 2 on the iTunes metal charts recently for more than a day which is pretty exciting for a local Queensland band. Enjoy! Holly x

Thrifty June at Scrapmatts

Hello everyone

As you may have seen from some DT posts over at Scrapmatts this month, our challenge was to create a card using minimal materials i.e. 2 patterned papers, cardstock and Scrapmatts. Well I decided to reinvent the challenge a bit and show you exactly how thrifty you can get with minimal supplies.

If you are like me, you probably have a stack of 6x6 paper pads floating around. I have probably 75% of the Kaisercraft ones from the past few years and while I do pull them out for the occasional card or layout, most are still almost full. So with a recent plan to start using my stash and downsize some of my clutter, I challenged myself to make as many cards as possible using one paper pad, some plain blank cards and some scrapmatts. And here is the end result:

Yep that's 20 cards... from one paper pad and to be honest I sort of ran out of motivation but there is enough left in the pad for another few cards using all the scraps and die cuts etc. One of these days I will finish off the rest of the pad. But how fabulous is that. 20 cards on a minimal budget, using nothing more than one paper pad which is less than $10, a couple of packs of $2 cards & a few of bulk packs of Scrapmatts such as words, birds etc. Each card has one or two pieces of chipboard to give it a simple bit of embellishment.

Now keeping with the thrifty theme, we had the chance to do anything for our second project so I did a little upcycling. Have you ever seen a toilet paper mini album? I discovered these late last year and did a mini brag book for mum following the birth of my daughter. My sister really wanted one so here is hers, 6 months later. Ooops! It is made from flattered toilet paper rolls. Easiest thing is to run them through a cuttlebug or something similar if you have one. The rolls were then painted and embellished. Again using one of those Kaiser mini pads. The tags are made just from cardstock but you could have made them using cut up toilet rolls but the cardstock is just a bit easier to work with.

Link your rolls with an album ring and decorate as you please.

Project Life week 19

Hey there

Been a bit quiet on the blog front lately as its been a bit hectic with my return to work this week and trying to get lots done beforehand. Thankfully the return went smoothly. Hard to leave my beautiful girl every morning but she's been good for her daddy at least. Slept in 2 of the 3 mornings thankfully so he wasn't tired for work.

I am up to date on project life so far this year, although not on photographing the pages. But here is week 19 to share at least.

Mother's day insert

There are a few bits and pieces from the first Polly Scrap project life included as well. Can't wait to have a play with the new one when it arrives :-)

Last night I fit in some traditional scrapping as it had been a while. Its been all card making and project life lately. But this new layout I can't share. I think it might be a potential masters entry. I started it with one criteria in mind for the Scrapbooking memories 2013 masters, but ended up meeting another criteria as well so it gives me room to move depending on where inspiration takes me on the other 3 projects.  I just hope I find time to finish the other 3.

Anyway, just a quickie update. Thanks for stopping by
