Feeling A Bit Special

Hi all,
Today has been a bit exciting, being featured in 2 places today. My submission for the Helmar October challenge was featured today on the Helmar USA facebook page.

Also, my guest design submissions to Words or Whatever were featured on their blog... here.

I'm definitely on a roll with my creating this week too. Seems like the creative mojo has returned after a bit of a break due to the stress and burn out of work. So that's pretty exciting too!

Here is my favourite creation from my WOW guest design work:

The layout stand was painted in browns roughly and then using Helmar crackle medium and white paint, I created the antique look with the darker colours showing through beneath the crackles. I love the way this turned out. It will be a great way to display my favourite layouts.

This chipboard title was also done with some paint layering and Helmar 2 step crackle medium.

Materials: Kaisercraft velvet ensemble paper, mini pad, rub on, journal tags; black & white cardstock; WOW title.

Materials: Kaiser velvet ensemble paper; Bo bunny paper; Prima flowers and bling; kaiser flowers; WOW title.
Materials: Coordinations cardstock; zva bling; prima flowers; WOW title.
Materials: Making memories paper; kaiser blooms & rub on, WOW title.

Thanks for taking the time to look.

Never Blue With You

Hi all,
Two posts in one day. Woot!

I was on a bit of a creative role last night after coming home to another acceptance email from Scrapbooking Memories magazine. That's 3 now... but still waiting for the first publication notice. Still... exciting stuff!

Here is a layout I did last night inspired by the current Helmar challenge.

This one was using the Kaisecraft Ivy and Blae collection papers and journal tag, with Kaiser rub ons, mini blooms; American crafts thickers; flower and brad.

Thanks for looking.

Perfect Sentiments Card Challenge

Hi All,
A quick share for the Perfect Sentiments weekly card challenge. My mum is booked in for an operation tomorrow so it was a perfect time to play along with this challenge, which is to create a get well card with embossing.

I thought I'd try a round card for something different.

I actually contemplated trying out for this DT as although I'm not much of a card maker, I loved the idea that it would motivate me to make a different card each week rather than having to throw one together at the last minute like I currently do. Instead I'll just have to play along as often as I can.

Such glorious weather here in Queensland today. Definitely wish I'd spent my day outside instead of at work!!

First Anniversary

Today is my first wedding anniversary with my husband Simon. Its hard to believe already a year has passed since our big day. It has simply flown by! This time 12 months ago we would have been at Mt Coot-tha taking photos in the natural bush settings with our bridal party. Or just about ready to jump back into the limo and head back to our reception venue for some pre-dinner drinks and nibblies.

Our wedding day was amazing and perfect in every day and it meant to world to finally marry my best friend after around 8.5 years together. It really is crazy how much time flies when you're having fun though.
Our weekend was spent in Brisbane city at a hotel, with dinner at a lovely resturant on Eagle Street Pier last night and lots of other nice meals and a movie yesterday. Overall very relaxing and it was nice to have Simon plan for a change hehe

This is the card I made for my husband for our first anniversary. Nothing too flash. But he still loved it because it was hand made. And it came with tickets to the ultimate music festival... Soundwaves. Yep, I'm such a cool wife haha At least that's what his facebook status is telling everyone. And the first annisersary present is meant to be paper.

Up 2 Mischief

Hi everyone,
I just had to play along with the current A2Z Scraplets sketch and finally had the chance to do a layout using the very cute Party Animals collection by Kaiser, teamed with a very cute A2Z Scraplets chipboard title.

Here is my layout:

This layout is featuring my nephew Connor who lives in Melbourne. The journalling reads: Connor this photo was taken in Portland in September 2011. I wasn't there but wish I was because I miss moments like these with you.

The chipboard title was painted in Orange Kaiser paint and glossed in mod podge.

New Kits at Scrapbook Kits

Hi all,
Here are my latest kit creations using the fab kit Jules sent me from Scrapbook Kits for October. The colours were so not ones I am used to working with so it was a bit challenging but I am very happy with my end results. And I have so much left over that I could probably create at least another 2 layouts from this kit so fabulous value.
