19 Days

Hey there

It's been a while since I've shared anything even though I have been pretty busy creating so I thought I'd do a quick share tonight. I had a few extra prints of this one photo for some reason. It is a fave but no idea how I ended up printing it so many times so I decided to scrap them, with a bit of inspiration from the current Annas Craft Cupboard sketch turned on its side.

Here is the sketch:

And my layout:

Materials: Paper - Echo Park, My Minds eye; AC Thickers; Dymo labeller; Studio calico wood veneer; D-lish scraps pearl dots.

Project Life Week 6-10

Hey there

A bit of a catch up post with my last few weeks of Project life as I have been a slacker and not photographed. Actually, I blame the weather. Even today the weather was awful and so are the photos so sorry about the poor quality. Still working out how to take good PL photos too. Any tips much welcomed.

So here are the last few weeks in PL:

Week 6 full

Week 6 LHS

Week 6 RHS

Week 6 Insert page 1 & 2 (there are 4 pages but I haven't included the nudie bubba ones from Lily's photoshoot).

Week 7 Double

Week 7 LHS

Week 7 RHS

Insert week 7 page 1-4 (My 30th)

Week 8

Week 9

Week 10 full

Week 10 LHS

Week 10 RHS

Okay... so that is a lot of pictures... and terrible ones at that but you get the idea at least. I find that I do either 1 or 2 page spreads depending on how active my week has been. Last week we did some more interesting things so it was worthy of a double. The 2 weeks before that were kinda dull so were single pages each. And week 7 was my 30th so it had a  4 page insert.

The materials I use for my PL are quite varied. I use mostly Becky Higgins page protectors with the occasional WRMK, Echo Park and Snap thrown in. I use a bit of BH Seafoam collection and some Simple Stories SNAP, plus a variety of internet freebies or downloads. I have been trying to include a weekly weather screen shot from my Iphone or Ipad each week now too as I think its a pretty cool thing to look back and know what the weather was like. Although they don't seem to really express how miserable QLD weather has been for months.

I keep my embellishments relatively simple, mostly using Studio Calico wood veneer, and lots of alphas, particuarly AC Thickers or Jillibean soup alphas.

I edit all my photos in Photoshop Elements 11 and add a lot of digital brushes and overlays as well as journalling to my photos now. I also prefer to do my journalling cards in photoshop as my handwriting makes me cringe!

Thanks for visiting.

Birthday Mini Album

Hello

Today I want to share with you a very quick and easy project I put together for a birthday present on the weekend.

We were invited to a 2nd birthday party and the invitation said 'Please no presents'. But it hardly feels right turning up empty handed to a kids birthday party. So at about 8pm the night before I decided a mini album could be good, so the parents could put in some favourite pics from the day and perhaps pass on the album once little Mr 2 is old enough to appreciate it.

And let me tell you, it is a good thing this was a quick and easy project to do since my own little miss 3 months decided sleeping was unneccessary that night so I got about an hour and a half to work on the album and that was actually all I needed. Phew!

I kept it pretty simple due to my time restraints. The album is a Kaisercraft wood album, so pretty much you can just use the pages/wood pieces as templates to cut out your patterned paper, stick it on and embellish as you please. In this case, my embellishments were a combination of Scraplets (of course), American crafts thickers and some collectables die cuts from Kaisercraft. The collection is the Kaisercraft Save the date range, which is designed for parties.

Thanks for looking.

BONDS Baby Search 2013

Hey there

As a totally smitten new mummy, I decided to enter Lily into the Bonds baby search 2013 for a bit of fun. If you have a few minutes to spare, I'm sure she would love your vote on the link below:

Lily C | BONDS Baby Search 2013

It is a bit of a serious photo as I had issues with the website posting on my PC so I had to use the Ipad and my limited gallery pics. But it does have her representing her culture in her cute Polish onsie (her daddy is from a Polish background)

One thing that is for sure is that I'm totally loving this mummy gig. It is amazing sharing all those special moments each day. I can't imagine having to go back to work in 3 months. Not looking forward to it at all actually. We have been lucky enough to have a very happy, chilled out bub so the adjustment has been pretty easy compared to how it can be for new parents. Overall, it is just wonderful and there is no experience like it!

Thanks for popping by
